The police and cemetery location were heavily influenced by this trailer. This movie is a slasher movie and it uses a rather typical place in horror movies with many scenes at the police station in this trailer and we believe that we could create something similar with an old police station.

The shot list was influenced by this trailer as our antagonist is something similar to leatherface in this movie.

ENTRANCE:
Because this old police station is hired out, it is regularly serviced so that there aren't many risks. However, going into the police station has two entrances. One from the front where the street is which we would need to make sure that our equipment are being handled carefully as there are a few steps and falling here would definitely damage expensive equipment and our cast/crew as it is concrete. Another entrance is through the back where there is the problem of metal steps with gaps so equipment's could possibly fall down and through; to ensure this doesn't happen, we would have to make sure we keep our small equipment in pouches and pockets where they are safe. Another hazard at the back entrance would be the cracked concrete there which is another problem if anyone was to trip here. Luckily the steps have rails on the side to help those who may need assistance getting up on the steps and also to stop us from falling over to the floor below the steps. |
INSIDE:
The inside of the Police station was full of various textures that we could incorporate into our own trailers. The use of these textures would help set a horror scene and makes the audience think about what is going on building on their intellectual pleasure. Wires and other electrical objects were placed above which is a good thing for us as they aren't a safety hazard. In addition, they were also another texture we could use as the ceiling wasn't fully covered and did look old which helps build on the mystery of the location. There were clear labels for lights which was useful as they link to the cells that i will discuss later. As for safety, the fuse box was easily accessible which is good in case of emergency. We would need to be able to access this quickly to help prevent future problems or to put the electricity back on if the power trips. In addition to this, there were clear signs to tell us what to do and where we should go in case of an emergency. |
CELLS:
As the location is an old police station, it has the cells still operational. This would firstly be another risk as we would need to make sure the doors are always open and that our crew or cast do not lock themselves inside the cells. Because, we were shown that the doors lock themselves when shut and to open it, you would need the key. And because it is a cell, it can only be opened outside the cell. Despite being a risk, we could also adopt this into our trailer as it creates a huge effect when someone wonders into a place they shouldn't and gets locked in. Moving on, inside the cells we found various textures which all hold their own stories. In most of the cells, they have carvings of words, places, names etc. on the wooden sitting area which we felt was good because it helps build on that idea of mystery. The cameras placed inside the cells also were influential to our trailer as we are focusing on a surveillance themed film to present government surveillance as the subtext. |
