We all got our booklets back individually and we were placed in this group as a result of the grade we got for our booklet. Because of this, we made our group media blog as we decided this should be done as soon as possible so we can all put any ideas onto the blog. Also, we decided to make a group chat on WhatsApp; this is so we can talk to each other as a group and ask any queries we have to do with our work in this group chat.
Monday 19th September - Friday 30th September
Today we have been told that we would need to start our development section for our trailer. This involves a horror genre research page, textual analysis, concepts, treatment and film crits. The textual analysis is broken down into three parts: poster analysis, magazine analysis and movie trailer analysis. Between us four we broke it down so that we all had a part in this. We all pitched our ideas later on before our deadline on the 30th of September. Sean Bablee - For our development, I done the poster analysis, magazine analysis and lastly the treatment as this was based on my trailer that we chose to continue working with. Deji Olojede - I done the movie trailers and added an additional magazine analysis. I analysed 4 trailers as I wanted to have more research on successful movie trailers so we can help relate back to the conventions used in our production. Joe Lawday - I worked on the film crits in our development. Joe Collins - I done the horror genre research, to make this look more visually appealing I used a lot of thinglinks in the part I was working on which was the horror genre research.
Monday 3rd October - Friday 21st October
Sean Bablee - As a group we decided to split the workload so I will be starting the Draft of the Poster and Magazine which would go under the pre-production posts as I need to finish this for Joe Lawday who will start the Audience Research after I finish my part. I analysed 4 horror genre posters and 3 magazine front covers which did give me an idea of what elements should be used in a successful poster and magazine. Joe Collins - After our group discussion we decided that I would do the work of student 3. This is the story board and the photo board, to do this I will receive some help from Mr Barton for the camera shots and lighting etc. Joe Lawday - I will be doing the audience research work, I am currently putting together a questionnaire which will be used to gather research into what our target audience is looking for in a horror movie and what they think of our concept. Deji Olojede - As a group we all discussed what each of us would individually. We decided that I will do the mood board of our trailer.

Thursday 5th January 2017
Our teaser does present some conventional ascpects that does support the genre convention, in particular a slasher as we as the audience did get a glimpse of a final girl which is conventional in slasher films. The use of non-diegetic sound is effective especially the use of drones and rising sounds to help build on tension. The sound effects as a result did boast the jump scares as well as mystery because the audience wouldn't have known what was happening. As well as this, the title slates were used effectively and had a unique consistent design throughout which did uphold the horror theme. On the other hand, we did use some scenes for too long where we could have shortened. The use of props were limited which also meant that the visceral pleasure was also limited. 25/40 (Level 3)
Was appealing which was supported by the conventions but did need some more colour to help present it as a magazine. Magazine - 6/10 Was appealing but needed more elements to show off iconic actors. Poster - 7/10
